About Shenzhen Beaches

Who we are, how we work, and why we built this guide.

Why We Built This

Shenzhen has 10 distinct beaches, but information about them — especially in English — is scattered, outdated, or written by people who have never actually been there. We wanted a single, honest, up-to-date resource where anyone can figure out which beach is right for them in 60 seconds.

No sponsored listings, no paid placements, no affiliate links. Just honest information from people who actually go to these beaches.

Who We Are

We are Shenzhen locals — long-term residents of the city who have visited every beach on this page multiple times, across all seasons, in all weather conditions. Between us, we have:

  • Logged 200+ beach visits across 5+ years
  • Photographed every beach in both peak and off-peak seasons
  • Tested every transport route (metro, bus, taxi, driving) ourselves
  • Verified entrance fees, facility prices, and water quality reports firsthand
  • Visited on holidays, weekends, and weekdays to give you realistic crowd expectations

We speak English and Chinese, which means we can read official notices, talk to locals, and verify information across both languages — something many English-only travel guides cannot do.

Our Methodology

Every piece of information on this site comes from one of two sources:

  1. Firsthand visits — We go to the beaches. We take the buses. We pay the entrance fees. We check the facilities ourselves.
  2. Official verification — Water quality data is sourced from the monthly Shenzhen Ecology Bureau (深圳市生态环境局) swimming-grade reports. Transport routes are checked against official Shenzhen Metro and bus operator schedules. Prices are confirmed by recent visitor reports and on-site verification.

We do not use AI to generate content. Every description, tip, and recommendation on this site is based on real experience and verified data.

How We Stay Current

We revisit beaches regularly and update this site whenever:

  • Bus routes or metro lines change
  • Entrance fees or facility prices are revised
  • New beaches open or existing ones close for renovation
  • Water quality grades are updated by the Ecology Bureau

Each page shows when it was last verified. If you spot something outdated, please let us know — we fix errors quickly.

Disclaimers

  • We are not affiliated with any tourism board, government agency, resort, or beach operator.
  • All prices are in Chinese Renminbi (RMB / CNY) and are approximate — actual prices may vary by season.
  • Water quality data reflects published reports and may not represent real-time conditions.
  • Always check official sources before traveling — conditions, prices, and transport can change without notice.
